Product Development Executive

Job Description

Job Summary: The Product Development Executive will play a key role in the design, development, and commercialization of new food products and packaging solutions. The incumbent will be responsible for creating product specifications, managing prototype development, coordinating with cross-functional teams and external vendors, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer-specific requirements. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage product development from concept to industrial scale. Key Responsibilities Generate, verify, and recommend the release of accurate product specification sheets. Develop production protocols for new products to ensure safe and high-quality output. Establish new product specifications, including packaging materials, labels, trays, and caps. Coordinate with industry resources to implement new technologies and source appropriate processing equipment. Manage the development of packaging elements (labels, caps, trays) based on source files received from clients, including direct interaction with suppliers and site visits when necessary. Ensure final packaging and labeling meet regulatory requirements of the destination country and gain client approval. Conduct detailed analysis of received product samples for matching and reverse engineering. Prepare technical specifications based on sample analysis by collaborating with internal stakeholders such as logistics, production, and technical teams. Prepare samples as per customer requests and manage the shipping and tracking of these samples. Facilitate the successful transfer of lab-scale trials to industrial-scale production. Improve or revise existing recipes based on feedback, process improvement, or cost optimization. Organize and conduct sensory analysis panels; compile and analyze results to inform product development. Participate in the design and testing of new packaging solutions. Review and update HACCP, QMS, and other food safety documentation as required when introducing new ingredients, products, or packaging. Essential Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or related field. 3 – 8 years of experience in product development or R&D in the food processing/FMCG industry. Proficient in developing and interpreting product and packaging specifications. Strong understanding of food safety standards (HACCP, QMS), country-specific labeling regulations, and sensory evaluation techniques. Hands-on experience with lab trials, sample preparation, and scaling up to full production. Excellent coordination and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and vendor interaction.
