Head of Procurement Location: Mumbai, India Salary: ₹18,00,000 – ₹24,00,000 per annum Industry: Food Supply, Alcohol & Beverages Company Overview We are a leading organization in the Food Supply, Alcohol, and Beverages sector, specializing in providing bulk agro-commodities such as Rice, Maize, and Malt to distilleries across India engaged in the manufacturing of Alcohol, ENA, and Ethanol. Our mission is to ensure a consistent, cost-effective, and high-quality supply chain that strengthens the backbone of alcohol and allied industries. Position Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Procurement with a proven track record in FMCG and Agro Commodity Procurement. The ideal candidate will bring 15+ years of experience in handling large-scale procurement operations, particularly in Rice, Maize, and Malt, and will have worked with leading alcohol manufacturing organizations, managing procurement for multiple plants simultaneously. The candidate must demonstrate exceptional negotiation skills, deep industry contacts with traders and suppliers, and the ability to identify, source, and secure high-quality products from across India. Key Responsibilities • Strategic Procurement Leadership: Lead end-to-end procurement operations for bulk agro commodities (Rice, Maize, Malt) catering to distilleries producing Alcohol, ENA, and Ethanol. • Plant Coordination: Manage procurement requirements across 3–4 distilleries/plants, ensuring timely availability of raw materials. • Supplier & Trader Management: Develop and maintain excellent relationships with suppliers, farmers, millers, and traders to secure competitive pricing and uninterrupted supply. • Market Intelligence: Identify sourcing opportunities in different parts of India and monitor commodity market trends to drive cost efficiencies. • Negotiation & Contracting: Drive strong commercial negotiations, ensuring the company secures the best value deals without compromising quality. • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all procurement activities adhere to regulatory, quality, and safety standards applicable to alcohol & food industries. • Team Management: Guide and mentor procurement teams to achieve efficiency and align with the company’s supply chain goals. • Revenue & Growth Contribution: Play a key role in reducing costs, strengthening supply chain resilience, and directly contributing to profitability and business growth. Key Requirements • Minimum 15 years of experience in procurement, specifically in FMCG and Agro Commodities. • Proven background in alcohol manufacturing companies, handling procurement for multiple distilleries/plants. • Strong expertise in bulk procurement of Rice, Maize, and Malt. • Excellent network and contacts with suppliers, traders, and millers within and across India. • Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills. • Ability to handle large-scale operations and critical supply chain challenges. • MBA (Supply Chain / Operations / Procurement Management) from a reputed university preferred. • Willingness to travel extensively to supplier hubs and plant locations.
