Procurement Engineer

Role Overview We are looking for a Procurement Engineer to manage the sourcing and purchasing of materials, components, and equipment required for our manufacturing and fabrication processes. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of engineering materials, negotiation skills, and vendor management capabilities. Key Responsibilities Source, evaluate, and purchase materials, fabrication items, and equipment as per project requirements. Develop and maintain relationships with reliable vendors and suppliers. Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to ensure cost-effectiveness. Inspect procured items (with production/quality team) for compliance with specifications. Maintain accurate procurement records, purchase orders, and inventory tracking. Coordinate with production, design, and stores teams to ensure timely availability of materials. Continuously evaluate suppliers for quality, cost, and delivery performance. Contribute to cost reduction and efficiency improvement in the supply chain. Requirements Education: Diploma/Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering. Experience: 1–2 years in procurement/purchase (preferably in fabrication or manufacturing industry). Technical Knowledge: Understanding of fabrication materials (steel, stainless steel, lead, consumables, etc.). Familiarity with fabrication processes and related equipment. Knowledge of measuring instruments and quality standards. Skills: Strong negotiation and vendor management. Analytical and cost-conscious mindset.
