Procurement Engineer

Pre-bid support in terms of Procurement activities to application team which helps to secure more orders with right support from supplier & on time procurement of BOC items after receipt of the order to KEPL.

Role & responsibilities

• During Pre-bid stage M.R./P.R. Scrutiny with respect to project Specification provided by Application engineers, Floating of this M. R. / P.R. enquiry to approved vendor list, arranging timely offers for All major BOCs ( Motors ( L.T. + H.T.), Seal & Seal Systems, ARCs, Clutch, Valves, Induction Generators, MPU, Instrumentation, VFDs, soft starters, LOS, Oil Engines, VTMS, MMS, JBs etc.),
• Price Negotiation & finalization of vendor for offers of the project.
• As per customer approved vendor list, searching vendor location, their channel of communications, alternate sources, vendor evaluation.
• Follow-up with vendor for offers on time and involving AE and E&I Cell for checking correctness of offers in pre-bid stage.
• Finding out overseas vendors for export job as per approved vendor list and finalizing commercial terms during pre-bid stage itself.
• Helping Marketing and costing department for giving Pre-bid - budgetary/Final offers commercial with all technical compliance by coordinating with AE and E & I cell for major BOC vendors.
• Finalization with back to back agreement in pre-bid stage itself to get best technical and commercial support from suppliers to secure the orders from customers.
• Helping colleagues while releasing PO, once order is received for correctness of PO, whatever is being agreed with vendors during pre-bid stage of that project.
• Material procurement (Mechanical) e.g. Mechanical Seal, Seal Plan, Clutch, ARC’s, Gear Box etc.
• Leading the team of Buyers, Senior Buyers (Daily review with team to achieve Ensuring material procurement optimized for cost, quality, reliability & Adherence to the Project Specification
• Should be conversant with EPC, (Offshore/Onshore) Project Procurement environment and demands /Full procurement cycle from Procure to Pay.
• Leading negotiations with key suppliers to get the best possible technical support with lowest price within the allocated budget.
• Ensure just in time procurement to minimize inventory
• Identification, evaluation, development of vendors – material.
• Vendor management: Pre-qualification of Vendors, Vendor Selection, Coordination with all internal stakeholders like QA to insure required quality material.
• Driving improvement initiatives in line with department KRA.
• Driving active identification and execution of sourcing cost reduction opportunities
