Process Development Scientist

As our Industrial Specialties business looks to deliver its ambitious strategy of growth, we are looking for a Process Development Scientist to join our organisation to support the team for process development activities, technology transfer and scale-up of new products at site.Reporting into the Process Development Manager, you will be responsible for process development and scaling up chemistries from the Lab and from other sites of Croda.

Degree qualified in Organic ChemistryStrong understanding of formulations and synthesis processes.Proficient in process modeling, data analysis, and statistical tools.Hands-on experience with lab equipment, pilot plant operations, and safety systems.Experience with scale-up, process intensification, and/or continuous manufacturing is a plus

.What You’ll Be DoingBe part of a team that values diversity, sustainability, and continuous innovation, where your ideas and contributions matter.

Design and develop robust and scalable chemical processes for new or existing products.Conduct laboratory experiments, interpret data, and translate results into actionable process improvements.Participate in the technology transfer and scale-up till plant level.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, process engineering, manufacturing, and EHS to ensure successful process implementation.Support scale-up from lab to pilot and commercial production; provide technical input during plant trials.Identify and resolve technical challenges in manufacturing.Perform risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.Develop and maintain process documentation including SOPs, batch records, and process flow diagrams.Monitor process performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.Stay current with technological advances and trends in process development and chemical engineering
