We’re growing fast, and looking for a hands-on Principal Engineer – SaaS &Hybrid Platforms (Life Sciences) who’s ready to wear multiple hats and shape the future of digital pharma.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Principal Engineer is the technical authority and architectural owner of our SaaS and hybrid-deployed platforms for regulated life sciences manufacturing and laboratory environments. This role defines the long-term technical vision while remaining deeply hands-on, ensuring scalability, security, compliance, and operability across cloud-native, customer-managed, and hybrid environments.

You will work closely with founders, product leadership, and compliance teams to translate regulatory and deployment-specific requirements into robust, supportable architecture, while mentoring engineering leads and enforcing engineering discipline across the organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Architecture & Technical Strategy

• Own end-to-end architecture for multi-tenant SaaS and hybrid (cloud + on-prem) deployments
• Define deployment patterns supporting cloud-only, edge, and customer-managed environments
• Establish architectural standards for GxP-compliant platforms with strict data isolation
• Balance long-term architectural integrity with short-term startup delivery needs

Hands-On Engineering

• Lead development of core platform and deployment-critical services using Rust, Node.js, and Python
• Design GraphQL schemas and API contracts that work across disconnected or partially connected environments
• Contribute to performance-critical code paths, synchronization services, and upgrade mechanisms
• Troubleshoot complex issues involving distributed, hybrid, and air-gapped systems

Cloud, Hybrid Ops & Compliance

• Architect Azure-native SaaS infrastructure and hybrid deployment models (AKS, private clusters, edge nodes)
• Define upgrade, rollback, and version compatibility strategies for hybrid customers
• Establish patterns for secure data synchronization, offline operation, and conflict resolution
• Partner with QA and Security teams to support validated releases across deployment models

Security, Data & Regulatory Controls

• Define security architecture for SaaS and on-prem installations (IAM, RBAC, encryption, key management)
• Ensure auditability, traceability, and electronic records compliance across hybrid environments
• Support SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GxP audits, including customer-hosted systems
• Govern data residency and customer-controlled encryption requirements

Data, AI & Advanced Capabilities

• Architect data pipelines that support centralized SaaS analytics and local/on-prem processing
• Guide use of Vector Databases and AI/ML in hybrid and regulated contexts
• Define safe AI rollout strategies where model inference may run locally or in the cloud
• Ensure explainability, validation readiness, and controlled model updates

Technical Leadership & Governance

• Mentor Tech Leads and Senior Engineers across product and platform teams
• Lead architecture and design reviews with deployment and operability focus
• Act as escalation point for complex customer deployments and production incidents
• Partner with Product to align roadmap with deployment and regulatory realities

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

Experience

· Minimum of 12 years of software engineering experience

· Minimum of 5 years architecture at platform or product level

Education

• B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science or related field
• Equivalent experience acceptable

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS

Core Engineering

• Distributed systems and hybrid SaaS architectures
• Strong proficiency in Rust, Node.js, and/or Python
• API design using GraphQL and REST
• Data modeling across SQL, NoSQL, and time-series systems

Frontend Awareness

• Architectural understanding of Angular for complex, role-based UIs
• Experience supporting UI workflows in partially connected environments

Cloud & Platform

• Microsoft Azure (AKS, networking, identity, storage)
• Kubernetes, Helm, containerized deployments
• CI/CD pipelines supporting validated and hybrid releases

Security & Compliance

• Authentication, authorization, multi-tenant and single-tenant isolation
• Secure software supply chain and artifact signing
• Experience with regulated, audited, or safety-critical systems

Regulated Industry Experience (Strongly Preferred)

• Life Sciences Manufacturing or Laboratory systems (MES, LES, LIMS)
• GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, electronic records & signatures
• Validation lifecycle (SDLC, IQ/OQ/PQ)
• Data integrity principles (ALCOA+)

Soft Skills & Leadership

• Strong system-level thinking and decision-making
• Ability to communicate complex architecture to technical and non-technical audiences
• Pragmatic leadership in startup environments
• Comfortable working with global and customer-facing teams

Compensation (India – Indicative)

• ₹45 LPA – ₹70 LPA

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹4,500,000.00 - ₹7,000,000.00 per year
