Job Summary:


Piping Stress Engineers


Key Responsibilities:


  • Perform piping stress analysis using CAESAR II and other relevant tools in accordance with applicable codes (ASME B31.1, B31.3, API, etc.).
  • Review and interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), isometrics, general arrangement drawings, and equipment data sheets.
  • Identify critical lines and perform flexibility analysis, considering thermal expansion, seismic, wind, and dynamic loads.
  • Provide support in selecting and designing piping supports, expansion loops, and spring hangers.
  • Evaluate nozzle loads on rotating and static equipment and coordinate with Mechanical and Civil teams for resolution.
  • Prepare stress analysis reports and recommend modifications where necessary.
  • Review vendor documents and interface with suppliers on stress-related matters.
  • Participate in model reviews and coordinate with 3D designers to ensure stress-related design criteria are implemented.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and best engineering practices.
  • Provide technical mentoring to junior engineers and collaborate with global teams.
  • Key Skills & Competencies:


    • Proficiency in

      CAESAR II

      (mandatory), with knowledge of other tools like AutoPIPE or Rohr2 considered an asset.
    • Deep understanding of international design codes (ASME B31.3, B31.1, API 610/617, WRC 107/297, etc.).
    • Experience with

      stress analysis of critical lines

      , nozzle load calculations, spring supports, and interaction with civil/structural.
    • Ability to perform

      lift-off, slug flow, two-phase flow, PSV and relief line analysis

      .
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to interpret client specifications and incorporate stress requirements into design deliverables.
    • Familiarity with 3D modeling software like

      CADWorx, SmartPlant 3D (SP3D)

      , or

      E3D

      for integration with piping layouts.

    Qualifications:


    • B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
    • 6 to 8 years of relevant piping stress engineering experience in EPC/EPCM projects.
    • Prior experience working in oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, or power projects is preferred.
    • Good communication and coordination skills to work in multi-disciplinary teams.


    Preferred Experience:


    • Global project exposure, working with North American or Middle East client specifications.
    • Familiarity with Indian and international regulatory requirements and standards.
    • Experience in modularization or brownfield revamp projects is a plus.
