Role Summary

We are hiring a Performance Testing Specialist with 10+ years of experience and strong expertise in designing, executing, and analysing performance and load testing strategies for enterprise-scale applications. This individual contributor role requires practical experience with performance testing tools, observability platforms, and the ability to diagnose bottlenecks while collaborating with development, infrastructure, and product teams. Domain experience in Banking/Financial Services or high-load transactional systems is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and analyze load, stress, and soak tests for enterprise applications
• Create and maintain test scripts with parameterisation, correlation, and dynamic flow handling
• Identify and diagnose application and database bottlenecks through performance analysis
• Interpret performance telemetry from observability platforms and correlate with test outcomes
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) of performance issues and slowdowns
• Prepare and present test summary reports with graphs, KPIs, bottleneck explanations, and recommendations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, infrastructure, and product teams
• Participate in UAT review sessions, performance tuning discussions, and RCA walkthroughs
• Automate test execution using scripting and CI/CD integration
• Validate system KPIs and ensure SLA compliance for high-volume transactional systems

Mandatory Skills

Must-Have Technical Skills

• Performance Testing Tools - JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, or k6 (at least one tool mandatory)
• Performance Testing - Load, stress, and soak testing execution
• JMeter - Script creation, parameterization, correlation
• LoadRunner - Protocol experience (HTTP, Web)
• k6 or Gatling - Modern performance testing frameworks
• Python - Scripting for test automation and data handling
• Shell - Command-line usage and script modification
• BFSI Domain - Banking/Financial Services/Fintech experience

Performance Analysis & Diagnosis

• Bottleneck diagnosis in application and database layers
• Response time analysis, 95th percentile metrics, throughput, and latency analysis
• Thread pool behavior and performance tuning
• Ability to isolate slow DB queries and middleware latency issues

Monitoring & Observability

• Experience with Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Grafana, or CloudWatch
• Reading dashboards, application traces, service maps, and transaction traces
• Correlating logs/metrics with test outcomes and validating system KPIs

Automation & Scripting

• Modifying/extending test execution scripts
• Test data injection and CLI-based test triggering
• REST API testing and CLI tools usage

Domain Expertise

• Transactional domain experience in BFSI, Fintech, Insurance, or Telecom
• Understanding of high-volume, SLA-driven, multi-tier systems
• Experience with customer portals, payment gateways, or B2B financial platforms

Communication & Stakeholder Management

• Preparing test summary reports with graphs, charts, and KPI analysis
• Presenting bottleneck explanations and recommendations to stakeholders
• Participating in UAT reviews and performance tuning discussions

Professional Experience

• 10+ years of total experience in performance testing
• Proven track record of executing performance tests for enterprise applications
• Experience working independently and collaborating with cross-functional teams

Nice-to-Have Skills

• LoadRunner (if not primary tool) - Experience with additional protocols (Citrix)
• Cloud-native Performance Testing - AWS/GCP/Azure test environments, autoscaling behavior
• CI/CD Integration - Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps for triggering performance tests
• Advanced Infrastructure RCA - JVM tuning, GC analysis, thread dump analysis, TCP-level diagnosis
• Certifications - ISTQB Advanced Performance Testing or equivalent

Technical Requirements

• Independent execution of load, stress, and soak tests
• Script parameterization, correlation, and dynamic flow testing
• Throughput, latency, and hits/sec analysis
• Record-and-playback alone is not sufficient - scripting ability required
• Understanding of response time breakdowns and performance metrics
• Ability to work with monitoring tools without deep agent-level configuration
