Your Job

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees within an organization. This role involves managing sensitive employee data, calculating wages, deductions, and benefits, and ensuring compliance with federal and provincial payroll regulations.

What You Will Do

Process weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly and monthly payroll for salaried and hourly employees.

Verify payroll data including hours worked, taxes, and deductions.

Prepare and submit government filings and year-end tax forms (e.g., T4s, T2200).

Maintain accurate payroll records and employee databases.

Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries.

Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure smooth onboarding/offboarding and accurate reporting.

Stay updated on Canadian payroll legislation, tax regulations, and employment standards to ensure compliance. Ensure payroll processes align with federal, provincial, and local requirements.

Administer employee benefits programs such as health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefit offerings. Collaborate with benefits providers and assist employees with inquiries related to benefits.

Prepare and share payroll reports to relevant stakeholders within the organization. Generate reports related to payroll taxes, deductions, and other payroll-related metrics as required.

Ensure accurate and organized payroll records, including employee information, pay statements, tax documents, and other relevant payroll documentation. Maintain confidentiality and security of payroll information.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

Education: Bachelors degree in finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or related field preferred.

Experience: 2+ years experience in Canada payroll, or related finance function.

This position operates in a professional office environment.

Standard work hours are 4PM to 1AM IST or 6PM to 3AM IST.

Ready to Work from the Office - 5 days

What Will Put You Ahead

Strong understanding of Canada federal, state, and local payroll laws.

Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Paywork SAP, Dayforce, ) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros) and familiarity with data-query tools.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to handle confidential employee information with discretion.

Experience working in a multi-state payroll environment.
