Payroll Specialist

Job Summary:

• This role ensures accurate and timely salary disbursements, compliance with statutory regulations, and alignment with internal policies
• The position works closely with HR, Finance, and external payroll vendors to maintain data integrity, resolve payroll issues, and support both monthly payroll operations and year-end activities
• Input and update monthly payroll data accurately and share the information with the payroll service provider in accordance with the payroll calendar, agreed cut-off timelines, and SLAs
• Manage end-to-end monthly payroll processing in alignment with the payroll calendar and SLAs
• Collect, verify, and update monthly payroll inputs (attendance, variable pay, new hires, exits, job changes, deductions, reimbursements, etc)
• Coordinate with the third-party payroll service provider to ensure accurate processing of payroll data
• Review payroll registers and variance reports for accuracy before final approval
• Ensure adherence to statutory laws, including PF, ESI, PT, LWF, Income Tax (TDS), Gratuity, and Bonus Act
• Stay updated on changes in labor laws and tax rules and incorporate updates into payroll processes
• Process payroll changes related to new hires, transfers, promotions, resignations, and terminations
• Ensure accurate calculation of full and final settlements, including notice pay, leave encashment, and statutory dues
• Work with Workforce Ops group to confirm last working days, recoveries, and policy-based deductions
• Prepare and share monthly payroll reports and dashboards for HR and Finance
• Reconcile payroll data, including earnings, deductions, taxes, and statutory contributions
• Address employee payroll queries promptly and professionally
• Maintain accurate payroll records, documentation, and audit trails
• Support year-end activities including Form 16, tax proofs, and annual returns
• All other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree is required Excellent customer service skills required Minimum of 2-4 years payroll experience is required
• Minimum of 1 year working on collaborative team environment is required
• Experience working with payroll systems and third-party vendors
• Analytical skills and strong attention to detail Strong Communication Skills and ability to work cross-functionally
• Giving team members work directions and assist with problem solving

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced Excel skills in use of pivot tables, lookups, and formatting preferred
• Experience with Workday, ADP Celergo, and Employee Inquiry Ticketing System Experience with general ledger, governmental regulations, and payroll taxes is preferred
