Responsibilities of the Inspection Agency at TTPS Stage #III The inspection agency is tasked with ensuring quality assurance and compliance in various engineering and testing activities. Key duties include: Verification and Witnessing of Equipment and Personnel : Verify calibration certificates for testing equipment, consumables, and personnel qualifications. Witness calibrations before testing and conduct site inspections for class-A and checks of approved Field Quality Plans (FQPs). Witnessing Tests and Inspections : Observe all Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods such as Visual Testing (VT), Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), Surface Testing (ST), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Boroscopy, Industrial Computed Tomography (IOT), Replica, and Corrosion Mapping. Also witness other tests like Neutron Flux Testing (NFT), Dry Film Thickness (DFT), Holiday Testing, Hardness Measurements, and Tube Thickness Measurements as required. Protocol Management and Reporting : Verify and maintain site protocols post-testing. Review and evaluate Radiographic Testing (RT) films, prepare and submit reports in prescribed formats. Handle soft data tasks like welder performance evaluation and RT film maintenance. Agencies must provide their own PC/Laptop for report preparation. Welding and Fabrication Oversight : Witness alignment and fit-up of weld joints, verify material grades, electrodes, and backing during welding in boiler areas. Observe preheating, post-heating, Post-Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT), and welder qualification tests as needed. Equipment Alignment and Checks : Perform alignment of fans, mills, and other equipment, along with checks on Air Preheaters (APHs) and Electrostatic Precipitators (ESPs) in boilers as required. Additional Site Work : If instructed by the Engineer-in-Charge (HOD of FQA), site engineers may work in Turbine Generator (TG) and other areas of TTPS Stage #III.
