Your new role

We are seeking a motivated Payroll Intern to support our global payroll operations. Our payroll is fully outsourced to external vendors; however, the intern will play a key role in coordinating, validating, and assisting with tasks related to payroll for India and other countries in the region. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to international payroll processes, compliance requirements, and vendor management in a global organization.

What will you do:

  • Assist in collecting, validating, and organizing employee payroll input data (e.g., new hires, exits, variable pay, leave, benefits) for India and other assigned countries.
  • Support in reviewing vendor-provided payroll reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with local requirements.
  • Help prepare payroll calendars, trackers, and documentation for smooth monthly payroll cycles.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and external payroll vendors to address data queries or discrepancies.
  • Assist in handling employee payroll-related queries, ensuring timely resolution or escalation.
  • Maintain accurate payroll files and records in line with audit and compliance standards.
  • Support payroll-related reporting (e.g., headcount, overtime, reconciliations).
  • Gain exposure to statutory compliance requirements in India (PF, PT, ESI, TDS, etc.) and learn about global payroll compliance practices.
  • Assist in process improvement initiatives, documentation, and standardization across payroll operations.

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Commerce, Finance, HR, or related field
  • Strong interest in payroll, HR operations, or global compliance
  • Basic knowledge of payroll, accounting, or HR concepts (exposure through coursework or internships is a plus)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, lookups, pivot tables) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good analytical skills and high attention to detail when handling data
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to global payroll processes and vendor interactions
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams across functions and time zones
  • A proactive and solution-oriented mindset with eagerness to contribute to process improvements
