Job Summary
We are looking for a mid-level Payment Network Analyst to support our core payment network operations (Visa, MC, etc.) and initiatives. This role will analyze customer behavior and transaction flows, interpret network specifications, and contribute to optimizing system reliability and user experience. Applied deep knowledge of the end-to-end payment lifecycle to align technical solutions with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze customer behavior, transaction patterns, and payment flow data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for optimization.
- Interpret and apply card networks (e.g., Visa, Mastercard) rules, regulations, and technical specifications to ensure compliance and improve operations.
- Support the implementation of new payment features, network certifications, and system updates.
- Set up and maintain BIN (Bank Identification Number) configurations and tokenization schemes to support new payment programs and initiatives.
- Coordinate encryption key rotations and certificate renewal requests with internal security teams and external partners, ensuring continuous secure operations.
- Maintain day-to-day Jira requests, monitor and troubleshoot issues across the payment lifecycle to ensure high system reliability and a seamless customer experience.
- Recommend process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency, reduce risk and improve customer experience.
- Develop and maintain documentation on network processes, transaction mapping, and exception handling.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in payments, card networks, banking, or fintech in an analytical or operational role.
- Demonstrated experience reading and interpreting card network documentation and operating manuals.
- Strong understanding of transaction messaging formats (e.g., ISO 8583) and settlement flows.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis, transaction flow mapping, and performance metrics.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and documentation skills.
- Familiarity with EMV, PCI-DSS, 3DS, or tokenization frameworks.
- Skilled in querying and analyzing data using tools like Qlik, Excel, Snowflake or similar platforms.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills; able to translate complex technical details into clear business insight.
- Ability to identify payment-related customer pain points by understanding the impact of payment network performance factors such as latency, reliability, and transparency on the customer experience.
