Network Security Architect

A network architect designs, implements, and manages complex computer network systems, including LANs, WANs, and cloud environments, to meet organizational business needs for scalability, security, and reliability. Responsibilities include network planning, modeling, analysis, and recommending hardware and software solutions, as well as overseeing installation, maintenance, upgrades, and security measures. They act as a senior IT professional who develops long-term networking strategies and guides IT teams in building and maintaining the entire network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Planning:

• Analyze business requirements to develop technical network solutions and comprehensive architectures for on-premises and cloud-based systems.

• Implementation & Installation:

• Oversee the installation and configuration of network hardware, software, and security components like routers, switches, firewalls, and cables.

• Performance & Scalability:

• Ensure networks are scalable and reliable to support future growth and changing business needs.

• Security:

• Design and implement security measures and protocols to protect the network and data communication systems.

• Maintenance & Upgrades:

• Monitor, maintain, and upgrade network infrastructure to optimize performance and prevent downtime.

• Documentation:

• Create and maintain detailed documentation for network systems throughout their lifecycle.

• Collaboration:

• Work with IT leadership, engineers, and vendors to align network strategies with business goals and implement solutions effectively.

Required Skills

• Technical:

• In-depth knowledge of network concepts (LAN, WAN, cloud networking), network hardware and software, security principles, routing, switching, and SD-WAN.

• Analytical:

• Ability to perform network modeling, analyze performance metrics, and troubleshoot complex technical issues.

• Strategic:

• Skill in developing long-term technology roadmaps and recommending solutions that meet business requirements.

• Communication:

• Strong ability to communicate with technical teams, management, and stakeholders to understand needs and present solutions.
