This is an on-site, hands-on training role designed to build practical networking skills and accelerate an early-career engineer toward production support and field engineering.Primary Title: Junior Network Engineer (Trainee)

About The Opportunity

We are hiring an on-site Network Engineer Trainee to join a technical operations team that installs, monitors, and maintains LAN/WAN, wireless, and security infrastructure for multiple client environments. This role is ideal for recent graduates or certification-holders who want structured mentorship, real-world exposure, and rapid upskilling into a full network engineering role.Role & Responsibilities

Assist senior engineers with installation, configuration, and commissioning of routers, switches, firewalls, and access points (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, MikroTik).
Troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues across LAN/WAN, VLANs, VPNs, TCP/IP stacks, and wireless networks using CLI and packet captures.
Monitor network health using SNMP/NetFlow and NMS tools (PRTG, Zabbix, Nagios); create incident reports and perform initial triage.
Resolve service tickets, follow escalation procedures, and maintain accurate runbooks and network documentation.
Support hardware moves, cabling, patching, firmware updates, backups, and scheduled maintenance windows on-site.
Participate in training sessions, shadow senior engineers, and contribute to automation scripts and operational playbooks.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

Diploma/B.E. in Electronics, Computer Science, IT or equivalent; freshers with strong lab experience welcome.
CCNA or equivalent foundational certification OR demonstrable hands-on lab experience with routing & switching.
Solid understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, basic routing (OSPF/Static), and VPN concepts.
Comfortable using CLI for device configuration and basic packet analysis with Wireshark.
Willingness to work on-site in India, including occasional shifts and field visits.
Good written and verbal communication; familiarity with ticketing systems (ServiceNow/Jira).

Preferred

Progress toward CCNP, Fortinet NSE, Juniper JNCIA or similar vendor certifications.
Experience with network monitoring tools (PRTG, Zabbix) and wireless platforms (Ubiquiti/Cisco APs).
Basic scripting (Python/Bash) for automation and simple operational tasks; exposure to SD-WAN/cloud networking is a plus.
