Monitoring Head (APM Monitoring )
Experience: 10–12 YearsLocation: Ghansoli MahapeWe are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Monitoring Head to lead our Application and Infrastructure Performance Management (APM) and Observability initiatives. This is a senior leadership role requiring deep technical expertise in Dynatrace and a proven ability to manage and mentor high-performing engineering teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining the enterprise-wide monitoring strategy and ensuring the optimal performance and availability of critical business applications.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategy and Technical LeadershipDefine and execute the long-term enterprise strategy for Observability, covering APM, Real User Monitoring (RUM),Synthetic Monitoring, Infrastructure Monitoring, and AIOps adoption.Serve as the organizational Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Dynatrace, overseeing its large-scale deployment, configuration, administration, and integration across various environments.Guide teams in advanced configuration of monitoring solutions, including custom dashboards, business transactions,alerting policies, and extensions to satisfy complex business and SRE requirements.Define best practices for monitoring modern cloud-native architectures, including AWS/Azure services, Kubernetes clusters, and microservices.Oversee the administration and maintenance of all monitoring platforms, including Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, Splunk, and integrations with ITSM tools like ServiceNow.Team Management and OperationsLead, mentor, and manage a team of APM/Observability Engineers, promoting technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.Be responsible for performance reviews, talent development, hiring, and providing tool-based training and knowledge transfers to team members.Establish and enforce ITIL-aligned operational processes for monitoring administration, platform upgrades, patching, incident response, and SLA adherence.Drive a proactive culture by championing the use of monitoring data (metrics, logs, traces) for deep performance analysis, incident prevention,and efficient Root Cause Analysis (RCA).Ensure the team operates effectively within an Agile framework, managing sprint goals, project deliverables, and complex operational tasks simultaneously.Collaboration and GovernanceCollaborate closely with development, infrastructure, and business teams to successfully onboard and hand over new monitoring solutions for critical applications.Manage licensing, billing, tool renewal processes, and user access management for monitoring tools.Ensure all technical procedures, architectural designs, and user guides are documented and maintained as part of governance standards.Required QualificationsExperience: 10–12 years of overall experience in IT Operations, Application Performance Management (APM), or Observability Engineering.Leadership: Demonstrable experience in managing, leading, and mentoring technical engineering teams.Core Technical Skills: Mandatory strong hands-on expertise with Dynatrace (SaaS or Managed) is essential.APM Tooling: Strong knowledge of other APM tools such as AppDynamics and New Relic.Platforms: Strong working knowledge of Linux and Windows OS, Cloud concepts, Splunk, and ITSM integration (ServiceNow).Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.Preferred Certifications (Highly Valued)Dynatrace Professional, Associate, or Expert CertificationsAppDynamics Certified Implementation ProfessionalNew Relic Full Stack Observability PractitionerServiceNow Certified System Administrator
