MEP Engineer

Job Title: MAP Engineer (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) – Real Estate Projects

About the Role:

The MAP Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supervising all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP/MAP) systems for residential, commercial, and mixed-use real estate developments. The role involves coordination with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure the effective integration of building systems in compliance with project requirements, codes, and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design & Planning:

• Develop detailed designs for mechanical (HVAC), electrical, plumbing, and fire-fighting systems.
• Review architectural and structural drawings to ensure proper integration of MEP services.
• Prepare load calculations, layouts, and technical specifications as per project standards.

2. Project Coordination:

• Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and contractors during design and execution phases.
• Ensure timely delivery of MEP systems within budget and schedule constraints.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for material procurement and system installations.

3. Site Supervision & Quality Control:

• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work quality and adherence to drawings and specifications.
• Monitor installation, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems.
• Resolve on-site technical issues and coordinate necessary design modifications.

4. Compliance & Documentation:

• Ensure all works comply with relevant local building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
• Prepare and maintain documentation, including technical reports, BOQs, and as-built drawings.
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and technical audits.

5. Cost & Efficiency Optimization:

• Support value engineering initiatives to improve system efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Recommend sustainable and energy-efficient MEP solutions for real estate projects.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering (or related field).
• Experience: 3–8 years of experience in MEP/MAP engineering within real estate, construction, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and other design/drafting software.
• Familiarity with local building codes and international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, BS, etc.).
• Excellent project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in project management (PMP or equivalent) or specialized MEP design training.
• Experience with sustainable building design (LEED, Estidama, or Green Building standards).
• Prior work experience in large-scale residential or commercial real estate projects.
