MEP Draftsman

Job Summary

We are seeking an MEP Draftsman with 1+ years of experience to deliver high-quality BIM models, coordinate project standards, and ensure seamless collaboration for international building projects. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare clear, concise, and accurate mechanical drawings, including but not limited to:
• HVAC ducting and piping layouts
• Plumbing and drainage systems
• Firefighting systems
• Piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
• Equipment layouts and detailed assemblies
• Isometrics and spool drawings
• Shop drawings and as-built drawings
• Utilize AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and other relevant drafting software to produce high-quality drawings.
• Interpret and translate engineering sketches, specifications, and design concepts into detailed technical drawings.
• Collaborate closely with Mechanical Engineers, Project Managers, and other team members to ensure design intent and project requirements are met.
• Review and verify drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., Qatar Construction Specifications, ASHRAE, ASME, NFPA).
• Incorporate revisions and mark-ups efficiently and accurately.
• Maintain an organized system for filing and archiving drawings and related documentation.
• Assist in the preparation of material take-offs and bills of quantities from drawings.
• Stay updated with the latest drafting software, techniques, and industry best practices.
• Ensure all drafting activities comply with company quality management systems and safety regulations.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Drafting, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of proven experience as a Mechanical Draftsman, with significant experience in the GCC region.
• Expert proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.
• Strong proficiency in Revit MEP is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with other relevant software (e.g., Navisworks, SolidWorks) is a plus.
• Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, drafting standards, and symbols.
• Ability to read and interpret complex architectural, structural, and electrical drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines.
• Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is essential.
