Job Description

Job Summary:

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems and equipment in a waste management or waste-to-energy plant. The role involves ensuring equipment reliability, optimizing plant performance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in line with environmental and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:Operations & Maintenance

  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems such as conveyors, shredders, compactors, balers, pumps, compressors, boilers, and turbines.
  • Monitor equipment performance, identify issues, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance activities as per maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure mechanical systems meet performance efficiency and safety standards.

Project & Installation

  • Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and plant upgrades.
  • Review mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications during project execution.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and project teams for timely project completion.

Technical & Process Optimization

  • Analyze mechanical failures and propose design or process improvements.
  • Assist in process optimization to improve throughput, reduce energy consumption, and enhance system reliability.
  • Maintain equipment calibration, lubrication schedules, and spare parts inventory.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all mechanical operations comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Participate in risk assessments and implement safe working practices.
  • Maintain records for audits, inspections, and statutory compliance.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance logs, breakdowns, and equipment performance.
  • Prepare technical reports and recommendations for management review.
  • Support budgeting for maintenance and capital expenditures.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (preferred specialization: Industrial, Energy, or Environmental Engineering).
  • Experience: 3–8 years of experience in waste management, waste-to-energy, recycling, or process plant operations.
  • Strong understanding of rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with maintenance management systems (CMMS) and root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations, emission norms, and safety standards.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
