Manager production & Planning

Job Title: Manager – Production and Planning Department: Operations Manufacturing Location: Raipur Reports To: Plant Head / General Manager – Operations Job Summary: The Manager – Production and Planning is responsible for overseeing the production processes and planning schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective manufacturing. This role includes capacity planning, manpower and resource allocation, monitoring production performance, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet delivery and quality targets. Key Responsibilities: Production Management Supervise day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure smooth workflow. Monitor production metrics such as output, efficiency, downtime, and quality. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards. Optimize machine utilization and reduce operational waste. Production Planning & Scheduling Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on sales forecasts and customer orders. Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure availability of raw materials. Balance workloads across shifts and production lines. Ensure timely delivery of products by tracking the progress of production plans. Team Management Manage a team of supervisors, operators, and planners. Train and develop production staff on SOPs, quality control, and safety procedures. Set KPIs and monitor team performance. Process Improvement Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives. Analyze bottlenecks and suggest corrective actions. Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams for equipment efficiency and upgrades. Reporting & Documentation Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports. Maintain accurate records of production data, downtime, and incidents. Support audits and quality assurance checks. Key Requirements: Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering; MBA (preferred). Experience: 8–12 years in production and planning, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setup. Skills: Strong knowledge of production planning tools (ERP/MRP systems). Good understanding of lean manufacturing and 5S. Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills. Proficiency in MS Excel and production reporting tools.
