About the Role

We are seeking a Legal Manager to oversee litigation and regulatory compliance for boAt. The role demands strong expertise in managing diverse litigation matters, regulatory issues, and proactive compliance oversight. The ideal candidate will balance strategic legal risk management with hands-on execution, ensuring the company’s interests are safeguarded while enabling business growth.


Key Responsibilities :


Litigation Management

  • Lead and manage all litigation (civil, commercial, consumer, labour, and regulatory).
  • Draft, review, and vet pleadings, notices, and legal documentation. Coordinate with external c
  • unsels, law firms, and regulatory authorities.
  • liasioning with external counsels to represent the company before courts, tribunals, and quasi-judicial bodies.
  • Maintain litigation trackers, MIS, and provide regular updates to management.


Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, industry standards, and statutory requirements.
  • Interpret and advise on new regulations impacting the business (Consumer Protection, Data Privacy, Labour, E-Waste, etc.).
  • Develop and implement internal compliance policies, SOPs, and monitoring mechanisms.
  • Conduct risk assessments and audits for regulatory adherence.
  • Liaise with regulators, authorities, and industry bodies on compliance-related matters.


Advisory & Risk Management

  • Provide strategic advice on litigation strategy and regulatory risks.
  • Support business teams on preventive actions to reduce disputes and penalties.
  • Drive legal awareness across functions to build a compliance-first culture.


Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of litigation processes, commercial laws, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience in managing litigation portfolios and compliance programs.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management – ability to partner with leadership, external counsels, and government agencies.
  • Analytical mindset with a proactive problem-solving approach.
  • Integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

  • LLB from a reputed institute; LLM preferred.
  • 8+ years of post-qualification experience in litigation & regulatory compliance.
  • Prior in-house corporate legal experience in FMCG/FMCD/Consumer Electronics preferred.
