We are scaling our India infrastructure team to support mission‑critical Linux systems and low‑latency production platforms.

Linux Systems Engineer (On‑site – India)

About The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Linux Systems Engineer to own on‑prem and cloud‑adjacent Linux infrastructure that powers real‑time telephony and backend services. You will join a hands‑on operations team responsible for provisioning, automating, securing, and monitoring servers and containers that serve high‑availability customer workloads. This is an on‑site role based in India requiring direct collaboration with engineering, SRE, and network teams.Role & Responsibilities

Manage, harden, and maintain Linux servers (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) across production and staging environments—ensure patching, backups, and lifecycle management.
Automate provisioning and configuration with Ansible (playbooks, inventories) and maintain IaC practices for repeatable deployments.
Deploy and operate containerized workloads (Docker) and support basic orchestration tasks; collaborate on Kubernetes handoffs with platform teams.
Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, ELK) to ensure observability and SLA compliance.
Troubleshoot complex incidents (network, storage, application) during on‑call rotations; perform root cause analysis and drive remediation.
Enforce security best practices: user & key management, SELinux/AppArmor, firewall rules, vulnerability scanning and compliance hardening.

Skills & Qualifications

Must‑Have

3+ years of hands‑on Linux system administration (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) in production environments.
Strong shell scripting (Bash) and automation experience with Ansible or equivalent CM tools.
Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, troubleshooting) and familiarity with storage concepts.

Preferred

Experience with Docker and basic Kubernetes operations, plus familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP).
Knowledge of monitoring stacks (Prometheus/Grafana, ELK) and experience building alerts/dashboards for SLIs/SLOs.
Certifications such as RHCE/LPIC and prior exposure to real‑time/telephony systems or database ops (MySQL/Postgres) are a plus.
