What Your Responsibilities Will Be Research and interpret VAT/GST laws and regulations, including reporting and remittance requirements, to keep Avalara tax automation products in compliance with international tax laws. Maintain existing taxability rules for assigned jurisdictions by overseeing tax law changes and converting these changes into both human readable explanations and machine-readable formats using the latest AI-enabled proprietary technology. Conduct unit tests to validate the results of transactions before deployment. Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to implement solutions. Thoroughly document research findings, providing comprehensive summaries and legal citations. What You'll Need to be Successful A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in law, accounting, finance, or economics with 7+ years of experience in indirect tax in advisory or consulting roles.
