Indirect Tax Research Analyst

As an Indirect Tax Research Analyst at Commenda, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the Head of Indirect Tax Content to analyze, document, and map complex U.S. sales and use tax laws. Your main responsibility will be to ensure accurate representation of tax content on the platform by conducting thorough research, collaborating with various teams, and maintaining tax content accuracy and compliance. This role offers autonomy and the chance to significantly impact the team reshaping global commerce. - Conduct thorough research on U.S. Sales and Use Tax regulations to ensure compliance and accuracy. - Own the integration of tax rates, rules, forms, and metadata into Commenda's tax engine. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement tax rule updates and support product enhancements. - Document research findings and maintain a knowledge repository for internal reference. - Build relationships with tax authorities to acquire current information and resolve issues. - Stay informed about regulatory changes and propose updates as necessary. - Eventually, assist in mentoring junior researchers and contribute to the growth of the tax research function. - Flexibility to align working hours with U.S. time zones for team collaboration. Qualifications Required: - 5+ years of experience in U.S. indirect tax, with a deep understanding of tax rates, rules, and returns. - Expertise in indirect tax research and interpretation of complex tax regulations. - Experience in legal research and tax technology solutions. - Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and accuracy. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills within a cross-functional team.
