Job Description

Role Overview:

Associate Director Legal and Risk Management

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and implement internal policies, standard templates, and Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs)
  • Provide legal and risk-related advisory services to business units and support functions
  • Respond to inquiries and notices from regulators, clients, and administrative bodies
  • Assist business leadership with strategic legal advice, crisis management, and risk mitigation
  • Provide litigation support, including drafting legal notices, replies, complaints, and responses to show-cause notices
  • Liaise with enforcement and regulatory agencies such as ED, CBI, Police, ICAI, etc.
  • Conduct legal research and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Stay abreast of current and emerging legislation, especially in areas including:
    • Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC)
    • Indian Evidence Act
    • Indian Contract Act
    • Companies Act
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts and legal documents
  • Manage employee-related legal matters and internal legal issues
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of legal professionals
  • Ensure adherence to the CA Act and ICAI Code of Ethics (preferred)

Candidate Profile:

Education & Qualifications:

  • Mandatory:

    LLB and Company Secretary (CS) from a recognized institution
  • Strong computer proficiency and working knowledge of legal tools and systems

Professional Experience:

  • 9–10 years of post-qualification experience in legal and risk functions
  • Prior experience in a professional services firm, consultancy, or IT sector is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in handling compliance, contracts, advisory, and litigation matters

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong knowledge of Indian legal and regulatory framework
  • Exceptional drafting and legal documentation skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication in English
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work in cross-functional teams
  • Leadership and team management capabilities
