Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Public Relations (PR) Manager with a legal or related background to manage and enhance our company's public image and communication strategies, specifically within the sensitive and complex field of immigration law. The ideal candidate will leverage their understanding of legal principles to ensure all public messaging is accurate, compliant, empathetic, and builds trust with clients, the media, and the community.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Communications: Develop and execute comprehensive PR and communication strategies that align with the firm's objectives and build brand reputation.

Media Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to secure positive coverage and manage inquiries. Serve as a company spokesperson when necessary, ensuring messaging is clear and on-brand.

Content Creation & Legal Compliance: Research, write, and edit press releases, articles, blog posts, newsletters, and social media content. Ensure all materials adhere to legal marketing guidelines and protect client confidentiality.

Crisis Management: Develop and implement crisis communication plans to proactively manage potential negative publicity or controversial cases, responding effectively and with composure.

Community and Client Engagement: Plan and coordinate events such as legal workshops, webinars, or community outreach programs to educate the public on immigration laws and build community relationships.

Internal Communications: Manage internal communication strategies to ensure consistent messaging and alignment across all departments, including the legal teams.

Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor media coverage and social media to track brand perception, analyse the effectiveness of PR campaigns using data-driven KPIs, and provide actionable insights to management.

Cultural Sensitivity: Ensure all communication materials and messaging reflect cultural diversity and are accessible to a multilingual client base, potentially coordinating translation of key materials.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education: Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field (Master's degree or legal background/qualifications are a significant advantage).

Experience: Proven experience (5+ years preferred) in a public relations or communications role, preferably within a law firm, professional services environment, or other highly regulated industry.

Legal Knowledge: An understanding of immigration law processes, terminology, and ethical communication guidelines is crucial.

Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to distill complex legal information into clear, accessible language. Multilingual proficiency is a plus.

Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work under pressure, excellent organizational and project management abilities, and creativity in problem-solving.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in PR software, social media platforms, analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
