Legal Manager

Role Overview

The Legal Manager will be responsible for end-to-end legal operations for Air IQ Online Pvt Ltd and its sister companies under the Udaan Group of Companies. The role will ensure that all business activities across the group operate within applicable legal, regulatory, and governance frameworks.

This position requires a practical, business-oriented legal professional who can manage multi-entity legal operations, support growth initiatives, mitigate risk and work closely with HR, operations, finance and senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Group-Level Legal Operations

• Own and manage all legal operations for Air IQ Online Pvt Ltd and the Udaan Group of Companies
• Act as the central legal point of contact across group entities
• Ensure consistency in legal practices, documentation and compliance standards across companies

Corporate & Commercial Legal

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts including vendor agreements, service agreements, NDAs, MOUs, SLAs and partnership contracts for all group entities
• Ensure contracts are legally sound, risk-mitigated and aligned with business objectives
• Provide legal advisory support to business, operations, HR and finance teams across the group

Compliance & Regulatory Management

• Ensure compliance with applicable corporate laws, labour laws and commercial regulations across AirIQ and Udaan Group entities
• Track regulatory updates and proactively advise leadership on impact and actions
• Manage licences, registrations, renewals and statutory filings for group companies
• Support internal and external audits related to legal and compliance matters

Litigation & Legal Risk Management

• Handle legal notices, disputes and claims across all group entities
• Coordinate with external advocates, law firms and legal consultants
• Draft and review responses to legal notices and demand letters
• Maintain litigation trackers, case status reports and legal MIS at a group level

HR & Employment Law Support

• Work closely with the HR Head on employment law matters across AirIQ and sister companies
• Draft and review appointment letters, employment contracts, HR policies and internal guidelines
• Provide legal guidance during disciplinary actions, terminations and grievance handling

Governance & Policy Framework

• Support drafting and implementation of company policies, SOPs and governance frameworks across the group
• Identify legal and compliance risks and recommend mitigation strategies
• Ensure documentation, approvals and processes meet compliance standards
• Support management on governance, risk and legal structuring matters

Key Skills & Competencies

Functional Skills

• Strong knowledge of contract law, labour laws, corporate law and compliance
• Experience managing legal operations across multiple entities
• Expertise in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements
• Ability to manage external legal counsels and regulatory interactions

Qualifications & Experience

• LL.B (LL.M preferred)
• 8 -10 years of post-qualification legal experience
• Experience in in-house legal roles, preferably handling multiple entities or group structures
• Strong exposure to HR legal matters and compliance
• Experience in services, tech, or growth-stage organisations preferred
