Role description

Job Title: Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM Technical Consultant

Role Overview

The Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM Technical Consultant is responsible for designing, developing, customizing, and implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE) and Power Platform solutions. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions, ensuring seamless integrations, optimal system performance, and adherence to Microsoft best practices.

The Technical Consultant works closely with Solution Architects, Functional Consultants, and project teams throughout the solution lifecycle, contributing to design, development, deployment, and support activities.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Development & Customization

  • Design, develop, and customize Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE modules, including Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, and Field Service.

  • Develop plugins, custom workflows, custom actions, and integrations using C#, .NET, and JavaScript.

  • Build and extend Power Platform solutions using Power Apps and Power Automate.

  • Extend platform capabilities using Dataverse, custom APIs, and platform extensibility features.

Technical Design & Implementation

  • Participate in technical design workshops and contribute to solution architecture discussions.

  • Translate functional requirements and fit-gap analysis outcomes into detailed technical designs.

  • Ensure solutions adhere to Microsoft best practices, coding standards, and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) guidelines.

  • Support solution packaging, deployments, and environment promotions across development, test, and production environments.

Integration & Interfaces

  • Design and implement integrations with internal and third-party systems using REST APIs, Azure Logic Apps, Service Bus, Azure Functions, API Management, or other middleware solutions.

  • Implement both real-time and batch integration patterns as required.

Data Management & Migration

  • Execute data migration activities using tools such as KingswaySoft, SSIS, or Data Export Service.

  • Validate migrated data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with security requirements.

Support & Performance Optimization

  • Provide technical troubleshooting, defect resolution, and production support across environments.

  • Perform performance tuning, platform optimization, and support version upgrades and patches.

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer

  • Prepare and maintain technical design documents, deployment guides, and support handover documentation.

  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by providing technical inputs and resolving defects.

  • Conduct knowledge transfer sessions for internal support teams and project stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

Experience

  • 6+ years of experience in Microsoft Dynamics CRM / Dynamics 365 technical development.

  • Minimum of 2–3 end-to-end Microsoft Dynamics 365 implementation projects.

Technical Expertise

  • Strong proficiency in:

    • C#, .NET, JavaScript, SQL

    • Dynamics 365 customization and extensibility framework

    • Microsoft Power Platform: Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse

  • Solid understanding of:

    • Dynamics 365 security model, plugins, workflows, and custom actions

    • Integration patterns and API-based development

    • Azure services including Logic Apps, Service Bus, Azure Functions, and API Management

    • DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, solution versioning, and release management
