What You Will Be Doing
- Constructing precise Academic Data Reports and performing systematic analysis to identify issues, detect anomalies, and initiate corrective action within 48 hours
- Leading rapid-response intervention calls and facilitating post-assessment coaching to eliminate blockers, distinguish knowledge gaps from simple errors, and sustain student motivation
- Assessing and deploying new educational applications and content, while prototyping AI and LLM solutions to advance learning methods and address specific challenges
- Coordinating with leadership to optimize tools, dashboards, and mastery benchmarks as the AI tutor continues to develop
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Attending lengthy meetings or producing generic presentations with no visibility into real-world results
- Grading assignments, drafting lesson plans, or administering traditional educational programs—AI and innovation are the engines of our work
- Working in abstract strategy without execution, or being confined to repetitive tasks—this role is both hands-on and dynamic
Lead Data Scientist Key Responsibilities
Accelerate student learning outcomes through AI-powered analysis and immediate academic feedback, evidenced by improved metrics such as 2× learning velocity, app engagement, lesson comprehension, response accuracy, and decreased negative learning behaviors across the Alpha Anywhere network.
Basic Requirements
- Proven experience in data science or a related field, education, EdTech, or a student-support position combining analytical and interpersonal elements
- Competence in Google Sheets data analysis (lookups, pivot tables, filtering)
- High emotional intelligence, effective communication abilities, and a coaching approach suited to children
- Experience designing workflows and automations using AI
Nice-to-have Requirements
- Foundation in learning science, educational theory, or proven success enhancing outcomes via data-driven methods
- Familiarity with Generative AI, prompting strategies, and foundational coding skills (Python, JavaScript, etc.) for interacting with AI APIs

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position.
