Job Description

Position title: Lead Power Bi

Work Experience: 8 to 10 years

Location: Vadodara

Job Purpose

The Business Intelligence Lead will deliver high quality business intelligence, analytics and reporting capabilities to the business. This role serves as a key liaison with applications team and operational teams to support their reporting and analytic needs by gathering requirements, prototyping, and architecting, as well as testing and delivering capabilities. This role partners with stakeholders across IT and business units to develop business solutions and generate insights by leveraging analytics resources, tools, and methods. Contributes to strategic IT plan on ways BI and analytics can transform the business, providing scalable solutions that drive impact to current and future operating models.

There is a strong emphasis on accelerating digital transformation journey in the business. Availability of quality data is a key success criterion for all the digital projects. This makes it essential that we have a centralize repository of data from different application sources accessible to various users like business analysts, sales managers, executives, etc., to enable these personas to leverage insights in a cost-effective manner for improved business performance. Today, many forms of advanced analytics are only possible on data lakes.
  • Lead requirement gathering sessions to collaborate with business to identify right data set, business logic and BI toolset to support decision making process.
  • Understand business information needs and translate into reporting solutions.
  • Responsible for architecture, design, development, deployment and maintenance of data analytics and information solutions across enterprise.
  • Lead functional BI design and cross-team facilitation to create and deliver BI solutions and applications.
  • Evolve the existing BI application landscape as needed to ensure it meets the future needs of the business.
  • Define and document best practices for reporting and analytics.
  • Work with strategic partners to help develop the BI roadmap.
  • Provide ongoing support to users by continuously improving and refining BI operations.

Skills And Abilities

  • Design, develop, and implement effective data models, reports, and visualizations using BI tools to meet business needs.
  • Gather and analyze business requirements, translate them into effective data models and reporting solutions.
  • Create and maintain project documentation, including BRD, SOP's, technical documents, and user manuals.
  • Work closely with data engineering teams to define data models, pipelines, and integration strategies.
  • Utilize SQL expertise to write DDL, DML queries for data extraction and transformation.
  • Manage ETL processes and ensure timely data availability from multiple source systems (ERP, CRM, etc.)
  • Optimize data models and reports for performance, ensuring quick access to critical insights and seamless data integration.
  • Deploy, manage, and maintain reports to provide up-to-date information
  • Manage application operations and reliability
  • Partner with application teams and service providers to driver highest level of support services
  • Develop and utilize new processes and strategies to improve adoption of BI applications
  • Provide technical support in the diagnostics and restoration of services as required
  • Define metrics and measure system usage and process adherence
  • Provide responsive action to any high criticality operational incidents and manage resolution.
  • Identify and manage data quality risks and define mitigation/remediation process to ensure highest quality solutions
  • Continuous improvement and competency development
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to get inputs on usage and improvements required.
  • Conduct refresher courses
  • Share technical and best practice process knowledge.
  • Set up a platform for knowledge sharing of best practices

Skills and

Ability

  • Working knowledge of Power BI, Power Apps, Data Warehouse, Data Models and ETL.
  • Good SQL skills - stored procedures and data structures
  • Understanding of agile methodologies and project management practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Related Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering / computer science / Information Technology or Master's in computer applications
  • Professional certification in BI technologies
  • Experience in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Work experience of 8-10 years in the technology domain
