Job Overview

The Junior Accounts Manager plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day financial and accounting operations of the organization. Working under the guidance of a Senior Accounts or Finance Manager, the role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, managing routine transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The Junior Accounts Manager contributes to the preparation of financial statements, audits, and reports that enable informed business decisions and financial transparency.

Key Responsibilities

1. Bookkeeping and Data Management

  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records in the accounting system.
  • Record day-to-day transactions including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
  • Ensure all supporting documents (bills, vouchers, receipts) are properly filed and stored.

2. Financial Reporting

  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
  • Generate regular financial summaries and reports for management review.
  • Support in variance analysis and help identify discrepancies or irregularities.

3. Accounts Payable and Receivable

  • Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payment of dues.
  • Track and record incoming payments from clients and customers.
  • Reconcile customer and supplier accounts regularly to maintain accuracy.

4. Bank and Account Reconciliation

  • Reconcile bank statements with company records on a regular basis.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve any discrepancies or mismatches.

5. Budgeting and Forecasting Support

  • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Provide data-driven insights to help improve cost efficiency and financial planning.

6. Compliance and Audit Assistance

  • Ensure adherence to accounting principles, company policies, and statutory regulations.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing required financial data and documentation.
  • Assist in maintaining records for GST, TDS, and other statutory filings.

7. Taxation Support

  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns and required documentation.
  • Coordinate with auditors or tax consultants to ensure compliance with tax laws.

8. Vendor and Stakeholder Coordination

  • Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and service providers regarding payments, invoices, and account reconciliations.
  • Support smooth vendor management and maintain strong working relationships.

9. Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting operations and improve accuracy.
  • Assist in implementing new accounting tools or software updates as required.

Required Skills:

Knowledge of Accounting Software: Proficiency in software like QuickBooks, Xero, or Microsoft Excel.

Attention to Detail: Accuracy in financial data entry and recordkeeping.

Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.

Communication Skills: Good interpersonal skills for interacting with clients, vendors, and other teams.

Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve accounting issues when they arise.
