Key responsibilitiesIT infrastructure management: Overseeing networks, servers, databases, and operating systems to ensure they function efficiently and securely. This includes monitoring performance, scheduling updates, and ensuring system availability.Team leadership: Managing IT staff by hiring, training, mentoring, and evaluating performance. The manager ensures the team is productive, collaborative, and aligned with organizational goals.Strategic planning: Collaborating with senior leadership to develop a technology roadmap that supports business growth. This involves forecasting future IT needs, evaluating new technologies, and recommending strategic upgrades.Budget and resource management: Creating and managing the IT budget, which includes allocating resources for projects, software, hardware, and staff. They also negotiate contracts with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness.Cybersecurity and risk management: Implementing and enforcing security policies and procedures to protect against cyber threats and unauthorized access. This includes conducting security audits, managing disaster recovery plans, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.Project management: Leading IT projects from planning through execution, including system upgrades, software implementation, and infrastructure changes. This involves setting milestones, tracking progress, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.Helpdesk and support oversight: Managing the helpdesk to ensure employees receive timely and effective technical support.
