Job Summary:

Inventory Planning & Category Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory & Stock Management

• Monitor stock levels across stores to ensure they are within prescribed company norms.
• Maintain optimal stock cover and stock turns to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
• Coordinate allocation and replenishment to stores based on capacity and customer profiles.
• Track and manage stock at the product warehouse and store locations.
• Ensure timely stock rotation across stores and warehouses to maintain freshness and relevance.
• Avoid write-offs by maintaining efficient inventory levels.

Sales & Category Performance

• Monitor and evaluate category-wise and store-wise performance to drive sales.
• Analyze sales reports and provide actionable insights.
• Prepare monthly ISQ (Ideal Stock Quantity) plans by value and volume.
• Identify fast- and slow-moving SKUs and revise replenishment strategies accordingly.
• Drive category performance by proposing an annual discounting strategy.

Product Lifecycle Management

• Manage New Product Introductions, packaging changes, and phase-outs in collaboration with marketing, procurement, and supply chain.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for timely and successful product launches.

Costing & Profitability

• Review SKU-level costings to ensure targeted Gross Profit (GP) margins are maintained.

Forecasting & Planning

• Lead demand forecasting for products using historical data and market trends.
• Generate and analyze inventory reports to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.

Key Requirements:

• Experience:

  Minimum 4 years in inventory management, merchandising, category management, or supply chain planning in a retail or FMCG environment.

• Education:

  Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Retail Management, or related field. MBA is a plus.

• Skills:

• Strong analytical and forecasting abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and inventory management systems.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic retail environment.
