Job Description

Job Title:

  • Assistant Sales Manager: 510 years
  • Industry Preference:

    Oil & Gas, Cement, Power Generation, Marine, Shipbuilding, Construction, Automotive, or other industrial/technical sectors

    Education:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering or a related technical field

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Engagement

  • Identify and approach potential customers in assigned industrial sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Understand client technical and business requirements.

2. Technical Consultation

  • Provide product and technical expertise to clients.
  • Explain product features, specifications, and applications.
  • Address technical queries and provide appropriate solutions.

3. Solution Development

  • Develop and propose customized technical solutions to meet client needs.
  • Prepare system designs, blueprints, and technical proposals as required.

4. Sales Cycle Management

  • Manage the complete sales process from lead generation to closure.
  • Prepare quotations, negotiate terms, and finalize contracts.
  • Ensure timely order closure and secure customer payments.

5. Internal Collaboration

  • Coordinate with overseas principals, local partner teams, engineering, and operations departments.
  • Ensure smooth execution of solutions and projects.

6. Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare technical documents, sales proposals, and costings.
  • Maintain detailed sales reports, forecasts, and customer records.
  • Track sales activities through CRM tools.

7. Post-Sales Support

  • Provide customer training, technical support, and feedback follow-up.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and support long-term business relationships.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or related Engineering field.

Experience

  • 5+ years for Sales Manager.
  • Prior experience in industrial sales, B2B technical sales, or technical consulting roles.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of industrial equipment, mechanical products, and engineering principles.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and perform onsite measurements.
  • Knowledge of tendering processes and customer portals.

Sales & Soft Skills

  • Excellent negotiation and presentation abilities.
  • Strong relationship-building and closing skills.
  • Good communication skills, especially in simplifying technical details.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and strong problem-solving abilities.

Tools

  • Proficiency in CRM software and MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to work with tender platforms and documentation.
