Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Indirect Tax Litigation:

•Represent the company before GST and Customs authorities, appellate forums, and other statutory bodies.

•Draft responses to Show Cause Notices, audit objections, and other departmental communications under both GST and Custom law.

•Coordinate with external consultants and legal counsels for litigation strategy, appeals, and hearings related to GST, Customs, and DGFT matters.

•Maintain a comprehensive litigation tracker, including timelines, hearing dates, and case summaries.


2. GST Audit and Compliance:

•Assist in handling GST departmental audits and statutory audits.

•Prepare and review annual returns (GSTR-9) and reconciliation statements (GSTR-9C), including coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

•Perform reconciliations between books, returns and turnover & other audit schedules.

•Support in resolving audit objections, ensuring timely closure of audit-related issues.


3. Customs Compliance & Export Incentives:

•Handle documentation and processing of export incentives such as RoDTEP, Duty Drawback, and IGST refunds.

•Maintain compliance under Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) schemes like EPCG and Advance Authorization, including monitoring of export obligation fulfilment.

•Liaise with DGFT and customs officials for submission of supporting documents and closure of licenses.

•Maintain a proper database and filing system for customs documents to ensure audit readiness and compliance with regulatory timelines.


4. Recent Updates Tracking & Implementation:

•Regularly track and analyze latest GST notifications, circulars, advance rulings, court judgments, and other departmental instructions.

•Evaluate indirect tax implications of business transactions and contracts. Support in implementing changes in business processes in line with GST regulations.

•Summarize key regulatory updates and share impact notes or internal advisories with relevant departments.


Desired Candidate Profile:

•Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA)

•Experience: Minimum 9-13 years of relevant experience in indirect tax litigation and GST audits.

•Strong technical knowledge of GST laws, audit proceedings, and legal documentation.

•Familiarity with SAP or other ERP platforms and GST compliance tools.

•Excellent communication, drafting, and analytical skills.

•Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
