Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with Indian labor laws, including the Factories Act, 1948, Shops and Establishments Act, EPF & MP Act, 1952, ESI Act, 1948, and other relevant regulations.
  • Maintain and update statutory registers (e.g., Register of Wages, Attendance Register, Leave Register, Accident Register, etc.) as mandated under applicable labor laws.
  • Conduct periodic audits of HR processes, payroll, and employee records to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Prepare and file statutory returns, such as PF, ESI, PT, and other compliance-related submissions, within deadlines.
  • Assist in managing employee documentation, including contracts, appointment letters, and compliance records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Support the implementation of HR policies and procedures in line with Indian labor laws and organizational standards.
  • Provide guidance to employees and managers on compliance-related matters, such as minimum wages, working hours, and leave policies.
  • Collaborate with payroll teams to ensure accurate salary processing in compliance with the Payment of Wages Act, 1936, and other regulations.
  • Stay updated on changes in Indian labor laws and regulations, informing HR leadership of necessary updates.
  • Assist in resolving employee grievances or compliance-related issues in a fair and legal manner.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in HR, with exposure to compliance or statutory processes.
  • Basic knowledge of Indian labor laws and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in maintaining statutory registers as per Indian regulations (e.g., under Factories Act, Shops and Establishments Act).
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees and regulatory authorities.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Preferred Skills:

  • Exposure to payroll processing and statutory filings (PF, ESI, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of compliance audits and record-keeping.
  • Proactive approach to learning and adapting to regulatory changes.

Work Environment:

  • Full-time position, typically office-based with hybrid work options (if applicable).
  • May require occasional travel for compliance audits or coordination with regulatory bodies.
