Job Description

Position Overview

The HR Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the human resource department in day-to-day operations. The role requires a blend of accounting and HR expertise to manage payroll, compliance, employee records, and statutory obligations effectively. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a small to mid-sized organization.

Key Responsibilities Accounting & Finance

  • Record and maintain daily financial transactions using accounting software (e.g., Tally ERP).
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports as required.
  • Assist in statutory compliance, including filing of PF, ESI, and Professional Tax.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and assist in audit processes.
  • Maintain petty cash accounts and ensure proper documentation of all financial transactions.

Human Resources

  • Process payroll, ensuring accurate salary disbursement and statutory deductions.
  • Maintain up-to-date employee records, including attendance, leave, and performance documents.
  • Assist in employee onboarding, documentation, and induction processes.
  • Manage statutory benefits such as Provident Fund, ESI, gratuity, etc.
  • Support in recruitment activities: job posting, screening resumes, coordinating interviews.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal HR policies.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency in accounting software (Tally ERP, Zoho Books, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of HR practices and payroll processing.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of applicable financial and labor laws.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Tally or similar accounting software.
  • Exposure to HRMS/payroll software is an added advantage.
  • Previous experience in a dual-role (HR + Accounts) setting.

Work Environment

  • Office-based role, Monday to Saturday (timings may vary by organization).
  • May involve coordination with government offices, vendors, and consultants.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
