An exciting opportunities for Aerothermal Engineers have arisen to influence and shape the future of the Defence business in India. The roles involve working with business and external stakeholders to support the delivery of key programme milestones thus enabling the delivery of our Defence Combat strategy. In this role, you will be responsible for the aerothermal design and validation of modules in the gas turbine main flow-path, including Fan, Compressor, Combustor and Turbine. What you will be doing: Define requirements for gas path aerothermal, ensuring an accurate and complete flow-down and capture of higher-level requirements. Define concepts for gas path aerothermal systems that meet requirements and evaluate using appropriate analytical methods to support accurate trades and optimised concept selection. Integrate gas path aerothermal systems through interaction with all adjacent areas across the organisation to deliver optimised systems. Perform appropriate verification and validation activity to ensure that requirements have been correctly met and that gas path aerothermal related aspects meet expectations. Identify opportunities for improvement in tools, methods and processes and support capability team in development and deployment of enhanced capability. Who we are looking for: Master's or PhD in Mechanical, Thermal or Aeronautical Engineering. Other qualifications, in combination with relevant experience, may also be considered. Demonstrated experience in turbomachinery aerodynamic design and analysis. Strong technical knowledge in mechanical design methodologies and have an understanding of cross-discipline engineering concepts. Strong fundamentals in Fluid dynamics, heat transfer, aerodynamics, thermodynamics. Manage and execute complex flow solutions (reacting and non-reacting flows) using CFD and other analytical tools and methods. Exposure to tools like ICEM CFD, Space claim, design modeller, ansys meshing, Fluent, Starccm, CFX, Open foam, UG-NX, flowmaster, Matlab, Python etc will be an added advantage. Highly numerate with strong technical and analytical skills, problem-solving ability and capable of systems level thinking. Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, and will need to be able to contribute effectively in a team environment.
