Simulation Engineer

As a Simulation Engineer CFD Specialist at Burckhardt Compression in Pune, you will play a crucial role in the growth of the organization by leveraging your expertise in fluid dynamics and heat transfer for reciprocating compressors or diesel engines. Your responsibilities will include: - Demonstrating in-depth knowledge of fluid dynamics and heat transfer relevant to reciprocating compressor systems - Developing and executing complex CFD simulations for gas flow analysis, pressure loss calculations, thermal studies, and performance enhancements in compressor sub-systems - Validating CFD models against experimental data and identifying opportunities for CFD studies in reciprocating compressors - Developing internal standard guidelines and methodologies for CFD assessments - Collaborating with Structural Engineers and Designers on product development and improvement projects - Working closely with structural analysis engineers to address fluid-structure interactions - Conducting internal consultancy and providing support for the execution and evaluation of CFD simulations - Documenting results and effectively communicating with stakeholders - Planning and conducting feasibility studies independently - Performing independent proofs of reports following peer review of simulation models Qualifications required for this role include: - Postgraduate Mechanical Engineer (ME/MTech) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience - Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English - In-depth knowledge of reciprocating compressor systems, rotating equipment, and associated products - Advanced experience with CFD Software such as Ansys CFX/Fluent - Ability to explore, compare, and recommend relevant CFD software packages - Experience with technical drawing and modeling (CAD) - Strong knowledge of industry codes/standards like API, ASME, etc. - Expertise in fluid flow, heat transfer, and engineering quality assurance - Proficiency in FEM software and Python programming for technical analysis In addition to a challenging role, Burckhardt Compression offers a supportive work environment with benefits such as flexible working models, employee engagement events, performance awards, sports activities, and library access.
