- Ensuring high availability and reliability and of all rotary assets at JMD CPP complex to achieve business objectives by:
- Continual Improvement of the Asset Management Strategies and optimizing the Maintenance Programs (PM, PdM, RCM and Minor/Major Overhauls) including effective application of various machinery condition monitoring tools and techniques.
- Optimally utilize the Reliability Improvement Programs (Proactive-FMEA, Reactive-RCFA).
- Ensuring required level of inbuilt reliability in the procurement of new assets as well as at the time of refurbished / repaired assets.
- Monitoring the KPIs for Critical Rotary Assets as well as the Maintenance Programs.
SECTION III: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE
Responsibilities
- Maximize availability and reliability of GTs and STGs of CPPs in JMD complex.
- Responsible for timely overhaul of GTs and STGs as per schedule. Prepare check sheets for Frame 9 and Frame 6 GTs CI, HGPI and MI jobs.
- Responsible for keeping adequate spares for scheduled overhaul & for emergency requirement.
- Responsible to identify areas for improvement, modification & optimizing resources of rotary equipment for all CPP plants in JMD complex.
- Responsible for performance of Rotary team reporting to him.
- Review of plant changes and modifications related to Rotary equipment.
- Reviewing and recommending of training required for rotary engineers.
- Coordination with other departments of on rotary related engineering issues.
- Administer & lead his group in the proper direction.
- Implement & maintain IMS in his area of control.
- Vendor Coordination.
- Development of standards and codes, SMPs and best practices for RIL.
- Preservation system implementation in CPP complex.
- RCM Studies for critical equipment in CPP complex.
- Responsible for budgeting and cost optimization.
- Monitor obsolescence and implement renewal plan.
- Benchmarking and audits.
- Responsible development of team members.
- Review Critical Root Cause analysis & Troubleshooting of critical problems related to Frame 9 & 6 GTs and STGs
- Provide expert guidance for trouble shooting, maintenance and overhauling of rotating equipment.
- Review and advice change management (alarms & trips) with proper risk analysis keeping business objectives in mind.
- Ensure consistent implementation and execution of maintenance programmes across plant.
- Contribute and provide inputs to equipment improvement programs for rotary equipment, specifications and best practices.
- Provide technical support for spares review & optimization. Monitor insurance spares availability and usability.
- Review and approve critical machine/components repair and inspection plans.
- Ensure collection and implementation of lessons learned from other sites.
- Prepare and implement budget proposals for rotary mechanical department
- Governance of rotary department including system and procedure compliance audits.
- Ensure achievement of department objectives.
- Prepare and implement development plans for rotating equipment engineers.
- Provide/facilitate training in areas of expertise for talent development.
- Manage training and development needs of specialists
- Evaluation of Repairs & refurbishment facilities
- Responsible for Performance monitoring & benchmarking
- Maintain Statutory and regulatory compliance
HSEF And Other Regulatory Compliances
- Follow applicable HSE procedures/ practices
- Monitor and audit compliance with applicable HSE procedures/ practices
- Track new regulations (local and international) and provide structured mechanism for compliance
Data Management
- Critical Rotary equipment assets history and improvement plan for the Plant
- Learning & development plan & record of team members
Extra Mural Activities
- Nominate participation in external events
- Recommend presentations / publications
Technical Knowledge & Skills
- Expert Knowledge on working and maintenance of Frame 9 and Frame 6 GTs and its systems
- Expert Knowledge on rotating equipment maintenance techniques and types
- Expert Knowledge on GTs STGs erection and commissioning
- Knowledge of auxiliary equipment like DG set, Gear Box system ,flow divider, SRV.
- Repair and refurbishment/retiral of GT parts.
- Machine performance pertaining to water wash system
- Advantage of AGB parts from power generation stand point.
- Expert Knowledge on Lube oil flushing of GTs and STGs
- Knowledge of industry standards and codes (API, ASME, ISO etc.)
- Knowledge of Reliability principles (RCM/FMEA, Statistical tools)
- Maximize availability and reliability of rotary equipment
- Timely adherence to audit schedules

SECTION VI: KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES
Education Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Technology (Mechanical Stream) or a Master's degree in Engineering/ Technology (Mechanical stream) (Preferred)
Experience
Up to 14-18 years of experience in Rotating Equipment of Power Plant, experience in Frame 6 and Frame 9 GTs operation and maintenance.
