1. Role Description

The Head - Taxation is responsible for overseeing and managing all tax-related activities for Welspun One Development Manager, Investment Manager, Fund and its SPV’s., ensuring compliance with Direct tax, Indirect Tax, SEZ laws and regulations. This role involves strategic tax planning, managing tax risks, and providing expert tax advice to support the company’s financial and operational goals. The position requires a deep understanding of direct and indirect taxes, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to navigate complex tax issues.

Tax Compliance:

  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of all direct and indirect tax returns.
  • Manage compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Oversee tax audits and liaise with tax authorities to resolve issues.

Tax Planning and Strategy:

  • Develop and implement effective tax strategies to optimize tax liabilities.
  • Provide strategic tax planning advice to senior management.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess the impact on the company.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and mitigate tax risks.
  • Implement internal controls to ensure compliance and reduce risk exposure.
  • Conduct regular tax risk assessments and develop action plans to address potential issues.

Advisory and Support:

  • Provide expert tax advice to other departments and business units.
  • Support the finance team in preparing tax provisions and financial statements.
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors and consultants as needed.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the team's financial acumen and analytical capabilities.
  • Ensure the team delivers high-quality financial analysis and reporting within established timelines.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive tax records.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management.
  • Ensure all tax documentation is in line with regulatory requirements.
