Role Description

The Site Engineer will be responsible for on-ground execution, monitoring, and coordination of all construction activities at the project site. Acting as the bridge between design intent and actual build, the Site Engineer ensures that work is carried out in line with approved drawings, specifications, timelines, safety norms, and quality standards. This role demands a high degree of technical knowledge, problem-solving capability, and strong coordination skills to meet project delivery objectives.

Educational Requirements and Work Experience

• Education:

  Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering

• Experience:

  5 - 10 years of relevant site execution experience in industrial, commercial, or warehouse construction projects

Essential Accountabilities

• Site Preparation & Due Diligence:

  Conduct site surveys, check levels, and verify readiness for construction activities. Identify any site-specific constraints or risks and escalate appropriately.

• Execution of Works:

  Oversee daily construction activities, ensuring adherence to approved drawings, specifications, and method statements. Supervise contractors, subcontractors, and workers for quality and productivity.

• Time & Progress Tracking:

  Monitor daily progress against micro-schedules; identify potential delays and work with the Construction Manager to implement corrective measures.

• Cost Awareness:

  Track material usage and wastage; provide inputs for cost control through efficient resource utilization.

• Quality Control:

  Conduct regular checks to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications. Address any quality-related non-conformance reports (NCRs) promptly.

• Safety Compliance:

  Enforce safety protocols on-site, conduct toolbox talks, and ensure all workers use appropriate PPE.

• Coordination & Reporting:

  Coordinate with design teams, vendors, and subcontractors for smooth workflow. Maintain daily site reports, progress photos, and update management on issues.

• Structural & Technical Execution:

  Execute specific warehouse structural works such as foundation and flooring systems, structural steel frames, pre-engineered building (PEB) components, mezzanine structures, and pile works, ensuring technical accuracy and adherence to design specifications.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Project Execution & Oversight:

  % adherence to daily/weekly work plans; % completion of assigned milestones on time.

• Time & Progress Monitoring:

  % adherence to micro-schedules; number of deviations from planned daily activities; average delay resolution time.

• Cost & Budget Control:

  % material wastage vs. allowable limits; accuracy of material requirement forecasts.

• Health, Safety & Environment (HSE):

  Number of recordable incidents/near misses; % compliance with daily safety checks; HSE inspection score.

• Design & Coordination:

  % timely clearance of design/site queries; number of unresolved technical queries; stakeholder (internal team) satisfaction rating.

• Stakeholder Management:

  Frequency of review/update meetings attended; responsiveness to site-related escalations.

• Quality Assurance & Checks:

  % compliance in quality audits; number of NCRs raised on works under supervision; average NCR resolution time.

Key Behavioral Capabilities

• Technical Proficiency:

  Proficient in AutoCAD and Staad Pro for reading and reviewing designs; MS Office for reporting and documentation.

• Communication Skills:

  Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise between site teams, contractors, and project management.
