Job Title: Head of Sales
Location: Kolkata
Department: Sales & Marketing
Reports To: Managing Director / CEO
Experience: Minimum 10 years in Tea Sales (Darjeeling & CTC essential)
Qualification: Graduate/Postgraduate in Business, Marketing, or related field
Salary: 40,000 - 50,000 per month

Position Overview:

We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Head of Sales to lead our tea sales division with a primary focus on Darjeeling and CTC tea. The ideal candidate must bring a deep understanding of the tea industry, a solid track record in both domestic and export markets, and the ability to drive revenue growth through strategic planning and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive sales strategies for Darjeeling and CTC tea across all channels – domestic, export, bulk, and private label.
  • Market Development: Expand our footprint in premium tea markets by identifying and penetrating new customer segments and geographies.
  • Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a results-oriented sales team with clear KPIs, targets, and growth objectives.
  • Key Account Management: Manage and grow relationships with large buyers, traders, auction partners, institutional clients, and modern retail chains.
  • Revenue & Margin Growth: Achieve revenue, volume, and margin targets through intelligent pricing, portfolio planning, and customer relationship management.
  • Brand Representation: Act as a brand ambassador at tea expos, trade fairs, and client meetings; uphold the premium value of the company’s tea offerings.
  • Cross-functional Coordination: Collaborate with production, marketing, logistics, and finance teams to ensure seamless execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and buyer behavior to adapt strategy and stay ahead of the curve.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present sales forecasts, performance reports, and market feedback to senior management.

Desired Profile:

  • Deep knowledge of Darjeeling and CTC tea markets, including bulk, retail, and export segments.
  • Strong network of buyers, distributors, and trade partners in India and abroad.
  • Proven ability to drive high-value tea sales and close large-volume deals.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and manage a wide sales territory.
  • Proficient in CRM, Excel, and other data/reporting tools.

Preferred Industry Background:
Tea Estates, Tea Export Houses, FMCG (Tea Divisions), Auction Houses, or reputed Tea Brands.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹480,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
