Role Overview

Production Head – Ice Cream Manufacturing


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the complete ice cream manufacturing process—from batching and freezing to packaging and storage.
  • Ensure adherence to production schedules while maintaining product quality and hygiene standards.
  • Develop and implement SOPs for production, hygiene, and safety in compliance with FSSAI and industry standards.
  • Manage raw material planning, inventory control, and coordination with procurement and logistics teams.
  • Lead and train production staff to maintain high efficiency, discipline, and quality standards on the floor.
  • Monitor equipment performance and coordinate preventive maintenance with the engineering team.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance and R&D teams for product consistency and innovation.
  • Drive cost control initiatives and minimize production wastage.
  • Maintain accurate production records, yield reports, and batch traceability documentation.
  • Support audits, inspections, and certifications related to food safety and plant operations.


Must-Haves

  • 7–10 years of experience in ice cream or frozen dessert manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in managing end-to-end production operations and team leadership.
  • Strong understanding of ice cream formulation, processing equipment, and cold chain management.
  • Working knowledge of FSSAI, GMP, and HACCP guidelines.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.


Good-to-Haves

  • Experience in setting up or scaling ice cream production lines.
  • Familiarity with automation systems and ERP-based production tracking.
  • Exposure to new product development and flavor innovation.
  • Strong background in cost optimization and process improvement.
