We are looking for a Head of SEO to drive AdLift’s organic search strategy and lead our SEO team to deliver measurable business outcomes. This person will be responsible for building and executing high-impact SEO strategies (technical, on-page, content, and off-page), managing clients’ organic growth, and aligning SEO with broader marketing and business goals. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience, deep SEO expertise, and a proven track record of scaling SEO programs in an agency or client-services environment.
Strategy & Planning

Define and own the SEO vision and roadmap for the agency and its clients.

Develop long-term SEO strategies (12- to 24-month plans) covering technical SEO, content, and link-building.

Conduct regular SEO audits (technical, content, backlink profile) and recommend action plans.

Perform competitive analysis, keyword gap analysis, and content opportunity mapping.
Execution & Oversight

Guide and supervise the SEO team (specialists, analysts, content SEO) to implement strategies.

Work with technical teams (development, product) to resolve site architecture, crawlability, speed, schema, mobile optimization, etc.

Lead on-page SEO initiatives: metadata, internal linking, site structure, content optimization.

Oversee off-page SEO: backlink strategy, outreach, link risk assessment.

Collaborate with content marketing to build SEO-driven content briefs, content calendars, and high-quality content.

Coordinate with other marketing teams (PPC, social, UX) so SEO is integrated into broader campaigns.
Client Stakeholder Management

Lead SEO client pitches, strategy presentations, and renewal conversations.

Set client SEO KPIs (traffic, rankings, conversions, lead quality) and align them with business goals.

Present monthly/quarterly SEO performance reports and insights to clients and internal stakeholders.

Educate clients and internal teams on algorithm developments, SEO best practices, and impact of SEO work.
Performance Measurement & Optimization

Define, monitor, and report on SEO metrics: organic traffic, keyword rankings, CTR, indexation, conversion.

Use data insights to drive continuous improvements and refine SEO strategy.

Run A/B tests or SEO experiments (content tests, technical tweaks) to validate hypothesis.

Stay ahead of industry changes: algorithm updates, SEO tools, search trends.
Team Leadership & Development

Hire, train, mentor, and grow a high-performing SEO team.

Foster SEO best practices, process documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Manage SEO tool budget (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, etc.) and vendor relationships.

Build a culture of experimentation, learning, and data-driven decision-making.

7–10+ years in SEO (agency + client side preferred). At least 3–4 years in a leadership role (managing SEO team / strategy).

Strong understanding of website architecture, crawlability, indexing, page speed, schema markup, mobile-first SEO, and site migrations.

Familiarity with SEO tools: Google Search Console, Google Analytics / GA4, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs / SEMrush / Moz, etc.

Experience with CMS platforms (WordPress, Drupal, Shopify, etc.) and HTML/CSS basics is a plus.

Excellent working knowledge of keyword research, content optimization, internal linking, meta tags, headers.

Ability to guide content teams using SEO briefs and topic clusters.

Data-driven mindset; ability to translate SEO data into business insights.

Comfortable with conversion tracking, attribution modeling, and SEO impact measurement.

Strong stakeholder management skills (ability to present to clients/management).

Experience in hiring, mentoring, and managing a team.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, or related field is desirable (but not mandatory).

Certifications (Google Analytics, SEO certifications like SEMrush Academy, etc.) are a plus.
