The candidate will be responsible for building world-class maps, navigation, and traffic intelligence platforms, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and low-latency performance. The role requires deep technical expertise in geospatial systems, graph-based routing engines, and real-time traffic modeling, combined with strong leadership and product vision.
- Define and execute the roadmap for location search, routing, and traffic intelligence platforms.
- Lead enhancement and development of graph-based routing algorithms, dynamic traffic-aware routing, multimodal transport planning, and EV-specific routing.
- Drive search engine capabilities (location/place search, geocoding, POI ranking, personalization).
- Enhance and manage real-time traffic ingestion, prediction, and visualization systems using AI/ML.
- Ensure systems are scalable, high-performance, and cloud-native (microservices, APIs, real-time data pipelines).
- Oversee ingestion and processing of multi-source data (GPS probes, IoT sensors, government feeds, crowdsourced data).
- Apply machine learning and AI models for location search, traffic forecasting, route optimization, and personalized recommendations.
- Ensure data quality, freshness, and accuracy in maps and traffic feeds.
- Build and mentor strong engineering and data science teams specialized in geospatial and AI systems.
- Work with product leadership to ensure seamless integration of search, routing, and traffic services into MapmyIndia’s B2B and B2C platforms.
- Establish engineering best practices for the availability, reliability, and security of location platforms.
- Drive IP creation in algorithms, data pipelines, and APIs.
- Align technology vision with MapmyIndia’s growth strategy to become the leader in location-based mobility intelligence.
- Search & Routing Engines: Graph algorithms, shortest path, traffic-aware routing, multimodal routing.
- Traffic Systems: Real-time ingestion, traffic modeling, prediction, and visualization.
- Geospatial Data: Map data structures, geocoding, spatial databases (PostGIS, Elasticsearch, etc.).
- Cloud & Data Platforms: AWS/GCP/Azure, Kafka, Spark/Flink, Kubernetes.
- AI/ML for mobility: Demand prediction, ETA calculation, congestion detection, recommendation systems.
- Proven success in scaling large, data-intensive, real-time systems.
- Track record of building and leading cross-functional engineering teams.
- Strategic thinker who can balance long-term vision with execution focus.
- Deep understanding of both technology and business needs of mobility/automotive clients.
- Ability to inspire, mentor, and scale technical teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
