Role Overview: We are looking for an accomplished Head IT – Lead who is excited in building and leading fresh team in our start up based out of Delhi. The candidate will build the entire team under his supervision and maintain overall IT delivery / performance best in the industry. The entire technological strategy roadmap and aligning it to business goals and market trends will be the key metrices.

The candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining our robust and scalable payment gateway (PG) and payment interface (PI) systems. The candidate will be responsible for the core backend logic, database interactions, API development, and ensuring the high performance and reliability of our platform. The candidate will also extend to understanding the full development lifecycle, including DevOps practices and contributing to front-end development with React when necessary. The candidate will build the entire team under his supervision and maintain overall IT delivery / performance best in the industry.

Key Functional Roles & Responsibilities

• Technology Strategy and Planning:

Developing and implementing the company's technology roadmap, aligning it with business goals and market trends.

• Platform Architecture and Development:

Overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of the company's technology platform, including cloud infrastructure, APIs, and databases.

• Innovation and Emerging Technologies:

Identifying and evaluating emerging technologies, such as blockchain, AI, and cloud computing, to enhance product offerings and improve operations.

• Security and Compliance:

Ensuring the security and compliance of the company's technology systems and data, adhering to relevant regulations like RBI, SEBI, and IDRBT.

• Leadership and Team Management:

Building, mentoring, and leading a high-performing technology team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.

• Business Acumen:

Understanding the business needs and requirements of the company, translating them into technical solutions.

• Project Management:

Leading and managing technology projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.

• Budgeting and Financial Planning:

Managing the technology budget and ensuring that technology investments align with the company's financial goals.

Technical responsibilities:

● Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and secure backend services and APIs for our PI/PG platform using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies.

● Lead architectural discussions and contribute to the evolution of our system architecture, ensuring it aligns with industry best practices for payment systems.

● Work extensively with SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis) databases, including schema design, query optimization, and data integrity.

● Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver new features and enhancements.

● Develop and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and performance tests to ensure code quality and system stability.

● Gain a comprehensive understanding of our DevOps setup, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and assist in troubleshooting deployment and operational issues.

● Participate in front-end development tasks using React.js as needed, ensuring seamless integration with backend services.

● Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and promote a culture of engineering excellence.

● Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in payment processing, backend development, and cloud infrastructure.

● Ensure compliance with security standards relevant to payment systems (e.g., PCI DSS understanding is a plus).

Required Skills and Qualifications:

● Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

● 5-8 years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on backend systems.

● Expertise in Java and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Data).

● Proven experience with designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices.

● In-depth knowledge of SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).

● Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.

● Hands-on experience or significant exposure to React.js for front-end development.

● Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git, AWS/Azure/GCP).

● Thorough understanding of Payment Gateway (PG) and Payment Interface (PI) system architectures, transaction flows, and security considerations.

● Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.

● Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Skills:

● Experience with message queuing systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).

● Knowledge of caching mechanisms (e.g., Redis, Memcached).

● Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

● Understanding of security best practices in financial applications.

● Proficient in Reacts.js and related structure.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹1,200,000.00 - ₹1,500,000.00 per year
