Reporting To

Role Overview

The Head of Green Building is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the organisation’s green building and sustainability agenda. The role focuses on team leadership, successful delivery of green building certification projects, stakeholder management, and business growth. The position ensures high-quality project execution across multiple certification systems while building internal capability, strengthening client relationships, and positioning the organisation as a one-stop sustainability solutions provider.

Key Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership & Management

  • Set, communicate, and track weekly and daily goals for the team.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to review progress, priorities, and challenges.
  • Mentor, guide, and motivate team members to achieve high performance.
  • Evaluate team performance regularly and provide structured feedback.
  • Foster a collaborative, positive, and high-accountability work culture.

2. Project Planning & Delivery

  • Plan project timelines based on available resources, project scope, and data.
  • Ensure timely delivery of green building projects with minimal escalations.
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously across different certification systems.
  • Maintain high standards of documentation, compliance, and reporting.

3. Green Building Certifications & Technical Oversight

  • Lead and oversee projects across certifications including IGBC, LEED, GRIHA, EDGE, GEM, and WELL.
  • Ensure accurate interpretation and application of rating systems and standards.
  • Review all project submissions before client delivery to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Minimise post-submission corrections through robust quality control processes.

4. Stakeholder & Client Engagement

  • Lead client meetings, technical discussions, and presentations as per project needs.
  • Coordinate with site teams and conduct on-site handholding and training sessions.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex project or client issues.
  • Build long-term client relationships and support repeat business opportunities.

5. Problem Solving & Risk Management

  • Proactively identify project risks and operational challenges.
  • Resolve issues independently wherever possible, minimising senior management escalations.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to improve project outcomes.

6. Quality Control & Governance

  • Ensure 100% internal review of submissions before external release.
  • Maintain low error rates in submissions through standardised processes and checks.
  • Continuously improve internal project workflows, templates, and formats.

7. Financial & Administrative Coordination

  • Coordinate with accounts and finance teams for timely monthly billing inputs.
  • Support leadership in tracking project revenue and delivery efficiency.

8. Knowledge Management & Capability Building

  • Contribute to internal platforms with green building content, dashboards, and project workflows.
  • Conduct internal training and knowledge-sharing sessions at least quarterly.
  • Stay updated with evolving sustainability standards, tools, and best practices.

9. Business Development Support

  • Support leadership in identifying new opportunities in green building and sustainability.
  • Assist in proposal preparation, technical inputs, and client pitches.
  • Strengthen the organisation’s positioning as a comprehensive sustainability partner.

  • Problem-solving mindset with ability to manage complexity.
  • Business acumen and understanding of sustainability markets.

Qualifications & Certifications (Preferred)

  • Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Professional certifications such as LEED GA/AP, IGBC AP, EDGE Auditor, LCA, or GHG Accounting (existing or in progress).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
