Purpose/Objective


    The Head of Electrical and Automation (GU) is responsible for leading the electrical and automation departments, ensuring the seamless operation and strategic enhancement of all electrical and automation systems within the cement manufacturing facilities. This role involves setting the direction for the departments, driving innovation, ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities of Role


    Strategic Leadership and Vision: Develop and implement a strategic vision for the electrical and automation departments that aligns with the company's overall objectives. Lead the digital transformation initiatives within the cement manufacturing process, focusing on increasing efficiency and productivity through advanced automation and data analytics. Department Management and Oversight: Oversee the maintenance, operation, and improvement of all electrical and automation systems across the cement manufacturing facilities. Ensure that all electrical and automation projects are completed within scope, on time, and within budget. Policy Development and Implementation: Establish and enforce policies and procedures for the electrical and automation departments to ensure consistent and high-quality maintenance practices. Develop and maintain a comprehensive risk management plan for electrical and automation systems. Maintenance Excellence and Reliability: Drive the adoption of best practices in maintenance management and reliability-centered maintenance for all electrical and automation systems. Champion continuous improvement efforts to optimize processes and reduce equipment downtime. Compliance and Safety Leadership: Ensure strict compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and industry regulations. Promote a culture of safety and ensure that all team members are trained on the latest safety protocols and best practices. Budgeting and Cost Control: Manage the budget for the electrical and automation departments, including capital expenditure projects and operational expenses. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to control expenses without compromising system reliability or safety. Team Development and Performance Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of electrical and automation professionals. Set clear performance objectives, provide regular feedback, and facilitate professional development opportunities. Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration: Collaborate with other department heads and stakeholders to ensure that the electrical and automation functions support the overall business goals. Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors, contractors, and external partners related to electrical and automation matters. Innovation and Technology Adoption: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in electrical and automation engineering. Evaluate and recommend new technologies that could enhance operational performance or provide a competitive advantage. Reporting and Analytics: Provide comprehensive reporting on the performance of electrical and automation systems, including key metrics and improvement areas. Utilize data analytics to drive decision-making and to identify opportunities for system enhancements. Emergency Response and Crisis Management: Develop and maintain emergency response plans for electrical and automation system failures. Lead the response to any critical incidents, ensuring minimal impact on operations and safety. Qualifications and Experience


    Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field. Work Experience: 8-10 years of experience in maintenance engineering within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the cement industry. Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of cement mill operations and the specific challenges associated with electrical and automation systems in a heavy industrial setting. Familiarity with industry safety standards, electrical codes, and regulatory compliance requirements.
