Head Chef

As the Head Chef at Olegio, a premium European-inspired restaurant in Trivandrum, you will lead the kitchen team and showcase your culinary expertise in crafting exquisite European cuisine. Your responsibilities include designing and executing authentic and innovative menus, supervising and motivating the kitchen team, ensuring high standards of food quality, managing inventory and supplier relationships, maintaining hygiene and safety compliance, enhancing the overall dining experience, optimizing food costs, staying updated on culinary trends, and incorporating them into seasonal menus and specials. Key Responsibilities: - Design and execute a European-inspired menu that reflects authenticity and innovation - Supervise, train, and motivate the kitchen team to maintain high standards of food quality and presentation - Oversee food preparation, portioning, and plating to meet established standards of excellence - Monitor inventory levels, source quality ingredients, and manage supplier relationships - Ensure kitchen adheres to health and safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation - Collaborate with front-of-house staff to address guest feedback and enhance the dining experience - Optimize food costs and manage kitchen operations within budgetary guidelines - Stay updated on European culinary trends and incorporate them into seasonal menus and specials Qualifications Required: - Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef, preferably with expertise in European cuisine - Culinary degree or equivalent professional training - Exceptional leadership and team management skills - Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices - Creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering high-quality dishes - Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment - Excellent communication and organizational skills - Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed If you are passionate about European cuisine and have the expertise to lead Olegio's kitchen to new heights, please send your resume and a brief cover letter to maria@theolegio.com with the subject line "Application for Head Chef - Olegio."
